Curenta monografie se axează pe rezultatele cercetării cu privire la metodologia și practica organizării recensămintelor populației în Republica Moldova. Lucrarea analizează particularitățile istorice de desfășurare a recensămintelor populației, experiența mondială în acest domeniu, practici moderne de organizare a recensământului. Un capitol aparte este dedicat analizei metodologiei de organizare a Recensământului populației din Republica Moldova din 2004 și Recensământului Populației și al Locuințelor din 2014. Această lucrare este o încercare de a răspunde la unele probleme și provocări impuse de situația existentă în Republica Moldova și oferă o analiză generală a practicii internaționale cu privire la modernizarea recensământului tradițional, încercând să identifice modelul potrivit specificului unei țări anume care ar putea fi implementat și în țara noastră.

The book ''Teenage pregnancy'' is developed based on statistical analysis and qualitative sociological research. It examines the extent of the teenage pregnancy problem, its fundamental factors, being proposed policy measures to reduce teenage pregnancy rate and improving reproductive health.

            The study presents methodological approaches for assessing the impact of demographic ageing on socio-economic development based on a system of indicators characterizing the situation in different areas- labour market, education, health, social protection and the system of retirement. There are developed recommendations to improve the monitoring of demographic ageing.

            The paper addresses to specialists from central and local public authorities, scientific researchers, PHD students, teachers, students and all those concerned with population and development issues.



This paper introduces issues reflecting women position on labour market joining with her family and maternal roles. Structured under a wide range of statistical and empirical study of women childbearing age live,  the monograph addresses current particularities and changes in reproductive behaviour of woman, which facilitated the decreasing birth rate indicators. The paper evaluates the determinants in achieving the intention and desire of a woman to bear a child, the opportunities of professional integration of women from Republic of Moldova at different stages of family life and some issues that appear  in reconciliation of parental roles. Another component is the study regarding the dynamics of employment indicators, the dimensions of economic inactivity of women and the interdependence of a woman to work or bear a child. Are developed the services on extra-familial preschool education from the country and the policy of sustaining families with children as a necessity in reconciliation the women's social roles.


Based on the socio-demographic study, are analyzed aspects of changing family structure, dynamics of marriage and divorce, both nationally and at European level. Particular attention is paid to birth research, the analysis of changes in the transverse and longitudinal and extramarital birth. There is highlighted determinants of family and marriage transformation, it is realised comparative analyse of demographic policies in countries with low birth rates, are developed proposals related to family policies in Moldova.


     The monograph presents the dynamics of the main demographic processes (fertility, mortality, migration) in Moldova and Belarus, are presented the overall trends for both countries, as well as features of demographic development. Are developed some recommendations for management of demographic processes. The paper is addresses to specialists in the field of demography and related disciplines, teachers and students of higher institutions, graduate students, as well as all those interested in population issues.
